Why is it important for Christians to understand Christ is all?

Answered in 2 sources

Understanding that Christ is all is crucial for Christians as it establishes the foundation of their faith and reliance on His sufficiency.

For Christians, recognizing that Christ is all is fundamental to their spiritual life and understanding of salvation. Colossians 2:10 proclaims, 'And ye are complete in Him,' affirming that all spiritual needs and aspirations find their fulfillment in Christ alone. This recognition prevents believers from being led astray by philosophies and traditions that detract from the simplicity that is in Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3). By acknowledging Christ's all-sufficiency, Christians can rest in the knowledge that their righteousness, sanctification, and redemption are entirely reliant on Him. It also encourages a deeper relationship with Him, promoting a life of faith and dependence on His grace, as it fundamentally acknowledges that without Him, one has nothing.
