Why is it important for Christians to understand Christ's garments?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding Christ's garments helps Christians appreciate His holiness and the significance of His atoning work.

The garments of Christ are emblematic of His character and atoning work. They serve as a reminder of His holiness and the righteousness that He imparts to believers. Jesus' garments, particularly His seamless robe, signify His perfect and complete work of salvation that cannot be torn apart (John 19:23-24). As mentioned in Exodus 28, the garments of the high priest were made to reflect God's glory and the seriousness of entering into the presence of God.

For Christians, grasping the significance of Christ's garments reinforces the truth that His righteousness covers us. Just as the high priest would wear garments for glory and beauty, we are clothed with Christ's righteousness when we believe in Him (Galatians 3:27). This understanding deepens our appreciation for the grace we've received and motivates us to live out our faith in light of His sacrifice.
