Why is it important for Christians to understand humility?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding humility is vital as it reflects Christ's heart and enables us to love others genuinely.

In Philippians 2:3, Christians are urged to do nothing from selfish ambition but in humility count others more significant than themselves. Jacob’s act of bowing to Esau illustrates humility, as he acknowledges his brother’s position with respect. Humility fosters genuine relationships, allowing believers to serve one another as Christ served us. Moreover, it aligns our hearts with the gospel message, teaching us to rely on God's grace rather than our merit. Embracing humility is essential for living out our faith effectively in community and reflecting the character of our Savior.
