Why is it important for Christians to understand the promises of God?

For Christians, the promises of God serve both to encourage and strengthen their faith. Every promise made is intended to meet the needs of believers and give them the confidence to trust God in all circumstances. As seen in Philippians 4:19, God promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus. When Christians comprehend the vastness and security of these promises, they gain the comfort of knowing that God is faithful, and they can rely on Him in their lives, knowing that these promises are all fulfilled in Christ.
