Why is it important for Christians to understand their salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding our salvation allows us to appreciate the grace of God and live in accordance with His will.

The foundation of a Christian's faith is rooted in understanding their salvation, which is a gift from God. Romans 10:6-9 emphasizes that this salvation comes when we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths Jesus as Lord. This understanding is critical because it reveals our dependence on Christ and not on our works. By recognizing that we have nothing to boast in except Christ (Galatians 6:14), we see that our salvation is completely due to God’s grace and purpose, and not our own merit. Therefore, when Christians grasp the magnitude of their salvation, they are compelled to live lives that reflect gratitude and obedience, embracing the call to follow Christ daily, as outlined in Luke 9:23-24.
