Why is it important for Christians to understand who God is?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding who God is vital for our faith, guiding our relationship with Him and shaping how we live as His followers.

A correct understanding of God's character is foundational for our Christian faith. As taught in the sermon, knowing who God is allows us to rightly worship Him and acknowledge His sovereignty in our lives. This knowledge not only transforms our perspective during trials but also cultivates gratitude and reverence in our hearts. It shapes our prayers, our worship, and our interactions with others. When we comprehend His holiness and majesty, as seen in Isaiah's vision of the Lord on His throne, we are led to humble ourselves and seek His guidance in all aspects of life. The clearer our understanding of God's nature, the more equipped we are to live in accordance with His will and to share the gospel with others.
