Why is it important for Jesus to increase and for us to decrease?

In John 3:30, John the Baptist declares, 'He must increase, but I must decrease.' This proclamation underscores the necessity for believers to shift their focus from self-glorification to honoring Christ. It reflects key sovereign grace theology where the exaltation of Jesus is central to His lordship, while recognizing our humble position as His created beings.
