Why is it important not to cling to what is shakable?

Answered in 1 source

Clinging to what is shakable leads to spiritual peril; only the unshakeable kingdom endures eternally.

Believers are warned against clinging to what is shakable—specifically, the old covenant systems and any man-made religious structures. Hebrews 12 underscores that these are temporary and ultimately will be removed. This warning serves to direct our focus towards what is truly enduring: the unshakeable kingdom of God. Clinging to temporal things, whether they be physical possessions, traditions, or legalistic practices, is perilous because they can lead us away from the grace of God and the salvation offered through Christ. Instead, we are called to anchor our faith in the unshakeable reality of Christ and His gospel, which alone gives comfort and assurance in this life and the next.
