Why is it important not to neglect fellowship with other believers?

Answered in 1 source

Neglecting fellowship can lead to spiritual decline and a sense of isolation from God's Spirit.

Fellowship with other believers is vital for spiritual health and growth. The New Testament encourages believers to gather regularly to support one another in their walks with Christ (Hebrews 10:25). When Christians isolate themselves, they risk becoming disconnected from the body of Christ which can lead to spiritual apathy and an increased susceptibility to sin. The pastor in the sermon highlights that just as hot coals lose heat when separated, so too do believers lose their fervor and vitality when apart from the community. When we fail to prioritize fellowship, we not only grieve the Holy Spirit, but we can also lose the spiritual support and encouragement that comes from being united with fellow believers.
