Why is it important that Christ is the foundation of our faith?

Answered in 1 source

It is vital that Christ is the foundation of our faith because He is the only means by which we are justified and have peace with God.

The importance of Christ as the foundation of our faith cannot be overstated. All aspects of salvation—justification, redemption, and sanctification—are inseparably linked to Him. Ephesians 2:14 confirms that He is our peace, which means our standing with God is secured through His sacrificial work. Moreover, without Christ as the foundation, our attempts at righteousness would be futile and rooted in dead works that cannot commend us to God. Only through Christ can we be confident in our status as justified and accepted before God, as God sees us in His Son. All our hope and expectation in salvation ultimately rest on His person and work, making it crucial for our faith.
