Why is it important to ask God for help?

Answered in 1 source

Asking God for help acknowledges our dependence on Him and aligns our desires with His will.

Asking God signifies an appeal to His omnipotence and acknowledges our own limitations. When we open our mouths wide, as commanded in Psalm 81:10, we express our faith that God is both able and willing to assist us. This act of asking is an exercise of faith, demonstrating our reliance on God's goodness and power. It is important because it also positions us to receive what He deems best for us. Our requests must be made in accordance with His character and will, as articulated in John 14:13, whereby we trust that He will fulfill our requests for His glory.
