Why is it important to balance grace and law in worship?

Answered in 1 source

Balancing grace and law in worship ensures that we honor God correctly without falling into legalism or licentiousness.

The Bible teaches that grace is a free gift given by God, yet it also transforms us to live in a way that honors His commandments. Worship must reflect this balance; otherwise, we risk falling into legalism, where we might strictly adhere to rules to earn favor with God, or into licentiousness, where we overlook God’s commands in favor of personal freedom. True worship arises from a heart that has experienced God’s grace and desires to live in accordance with His will. The Apostle Paul emphasizes this balance when he instructs believers to not use grace as a license to sin but to understand its transformative power in their lives.
