Why is it important to be discontented before coming to Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Being discontented leads one to recognize their need for Christ and seek true fulfillment in Him.

In the sermon, it is highlighted that God often makes people discontent to draw them towards the truth. Many people settle for false refuges or religions, but true change begins when they recognize their spiritual poverty and need for redemption. Similar to the 400 men who came to David in distress and discontent, individuals must first confront their unfulfilled state to be receptive to Christ's invitation for relief and restoration. This discontent serves as a catalyst for faith as it leads to a deeper understanding of the sufficiency and grace found in Jesus alone.
