Why is it important to be watchful for Christ's return?

Answered in 1 source

Being watchful for Christ's return is crucial as we do not know the day or hour of His coming.

In Matthew 25:13, Jesus instructs us to 'Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.' This call to watchfulness is of significant importance for Christians, as it reminds us to live in a state of readiness and spiritual alertness. Throughout Scripture, we are encouraged to remain diligent in our faith, constantly seeking Christ and living according to His teachings. By being watchful, we not only prepare ourselves for His return but also reflect our recognition of His sovereignty and grace in our lives. The parable of the ten virgins exemplifies the consequences of neglecting this call, as those who were unprepared were ultimately shut out from the wedding feast.
