Why is it important to believe before calling on the Lord?

Answered in 1 source

Belief in the Lord is a prerequisite for calling upon Him for salvation.

Understanding the connection between belief and calling is fundamental in salvation. Romans 10:14 raises the question, 'How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?' This indicates that true calling upon the Lord stems from genuine faith. Without belief in Jesus as Savior, individuals are not able to truly call upon Him for mercy. The act of calling is reinforced by the faith that acknowledges our need for His grace and recognizes Him as the sole source of salvation.
