Why is it important to believe in Christ for salvation?

Answered in 4 sources

Believing in Christ is essential for salvation because He is the only high priest and offering accepted by God (Hebrews 10:26-27).

In Hebrews 10:26-27, it warns, 'If we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment.' This passage underscores that rejecting Christ means rejecting the only means of salvation. Without Christ, individuals remain under the curse of the law and have no valid offering for their sins. Since Christ is the only mediator between God and man, accepting Him is vital; otherwise, one faces the terrifying prospect of judgment without remedy. Thus, faith in Christ is the sole avenue for reconciliation with God and is fundamental for eternal life.
