Why is it important to believe the Scriptures?

Answered in 1 source

Believing the Scriptures is crucial as they testify to Christ and are the foundation of our faith and understanding of God.

The Scriptures are the revealed Word of God and serve as the primary source for understanding His nature, will, and promises. Jesus points out in John 5:39 that the Scriptures testify about Him, hence, believing in the Scriptures leads to a deeper faith in Christ. The belief in God's Word is not only an intellectual acceptance but involves trusting in its truthfulness. As Paul expresses in Acts 27:25, we must have faith that it shall be exactly as spoken, which is necessary for salvation. The Scriptures equip believers with the foundation needed to navigate life and grow in their relationship with God.
