Why is it important to build our hope of salvation on Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Building our hope of salvation on Christ is essential because He alone provides true refuge and eternal security.

The importance of building our hope of salvation on Christ cannot be overstated. As the preacher states, 'It's either a good hope through the Lord Jesus Christ and Him crucified or it's a bad one.' Our hope must rest upon the person and work of Christ, who is 'the only foundation that God has laid.' Isaiah 28:16 calls Him 'a precious cornerstone,' where those who believe in Him will not be put to shame. This foundation of Christ ensures that believers will withstand life's trials and ultimately receive eternal life, as promised in John 6:37, where Jesus assures, 'All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.' Without this foundation, hopes based on works or personal merit will eventually collapse under the weight of God's judgment.
