Why is it important to consider ourselves unprofitable servants?

Answered in 1 source

Recognizing ourselves as unprofitable servants keeps us humble and aware of our complete dependence on God's grace.

In Luke 17:10, Jesus teaches that after we have done all that is commanded, we should say we are unprofitable servants. This acknowledgment leads us to humility, as it reminds us that our best efforts do not earn us any merit before God. Instead, all we do is merely our duty, and we rely completely on His grace. This perspective helps guard against self-righteousness and fosters gratitude for the grace that makes us His servants (1 Corinthians 15:10).
