Why is it important to desire the Word of God?

The Word of God is likened to spiritual milk in 1 Peter 2:2, portraying the need for believers to seek nourishment for their souls. Just as a newborn infant instinctively craves the sustenance of milk to grow, Christians are encouraged to earnestly long for the Scriptures, which provide clarity, encouragement, and understanding of God's will. This longing for the Word is rooted in our recognition of our dependence on God’s revelation to combat worldly struggles and temptations, enabling us to apply His truth in our daily lives and grow in grace.
