Hebrews 12:6 tells us, 'For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.' Thus, biblical discipline is meant to nurture children, prompting them to love and respect authority. It contrasts with worldly views that often discourage discipline; however, Ephesians 6:4 instructs parents to raise their children in the 'nurture and admonition of the Lord.' This clearly indicates God's design for correction is couched in love and kindness rather than in harshness, aiming to cultivate a heart of obedience in children.
