Why is it important to focus on God in difficult times?

Answered in 1 source

Focusing on God helps us shift our perspective from our struggles to His grace and faithfulness.

Asaph's journey in Psalm 73 teaches that when we face difficulties and envy the prosperity of the wicked, our focus often strays from God to our feelings and circumstances. He recognizes that true understanding comes when we enter God's sanctuary and redirect our gaze towards Him. As he states, 'Until I entered the sanctuary of God' (Psalm 73:17), it is this focus that enables us to see through the lens of grace rather than through our confused emotions. This shift in perspective reveals God's sovereign goodness and helps us appreciate our eternal security in Christ, which far outweighs any earthly struggles.
