Why is it important to follow Jesus?

Answered in 3 sources

Following Jesus is essential for receiving eternal life and being in relationship with Him, the source of spiritual truth.

The act of following Jesus signifies a commitment to learn from Him and to align one's life with His teachings. In John 1:38-39, Jesus invites His disciples, asking 'What seek ye?' and instructing them to 'Come and see.' This invitation is not merely an invitation to observe but to experience a personal relationship with Him. Following Jesus leads to spiritual fulfillment and divine revelation; as believers, we are called to know Him intimately, which in turn transforms our lives. In essence, following Christ connects us to the source of life and truth, which is crucial for our spiritual growth and ultimate salvation.
