Why is it important to give sacrificially?

Sacrificial giving is rooted in the example of Christ, who gave not just part of Himself, but everything for our redemption (2 Corinthians 8:9). The Macedonian churches exemplified sacrificial giving during a time of severe trial, willingly giving beyond their means (2 Corinthians 8:2).
