Why is it important to grow in grace?

Answered in 1 source

Growing in grace is essential for Christians to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and become more like Him.

In the closing verses of 2 Peter 3, believers are instructed to 'grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.' This growth is not an optional aspect of the Christian life; it is a necessity for spiritual maturity and effective witness in a world filled with distractions and errors. Growing in grace allows Christians to embody the character of Christ, to be diligent in their faith, and to be found without spot and blameless at His coming. This growth is facilitated through a genuine engagement with God's Word, in prayer, and by being active within the body of Christ, which ultimately glorifies God.
