Why is it important to grow in spiritual knowledge?

Answered in 1 source

Growing in spiritual knowledge is vital for Christians as it leads to a clearer understanding of God and His will.

The process of spiritual growth is essential in the Christian life, as evidenced in the healing of the blind man. Initially, he saw men as trees walking, a metaphor for unclear spiritual perception (Mark 8:24). This indicates that even the elect may experience incomplete understanding initially. However, the Lord's intervention—represented by His second touch—allowed the man to see clearly (Mark 8:25). This progression signifies how believers are taught by the Holy Spirit and grow in understanding through the Word of God and the workings of grace in their lives (John 14:26). The pursuit of deeper knowledge ultimately glorifies God as we learn to recognize our need for Him and His righteousness.
