Why is it important to have faith in Christ as our Savior?

Answered in 1 source

Faith in Christ is crucial as it is the means by which we are saved and assured of eternal life.

Having faith in Christ is central to the Christian faith for several reasons. Firstly, faith is how individuals enter into a right relationship with God; it is by believing in Christ's redemptive work that we receive salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 underscores this by stating that we are saved by grace through faith, not of works. Furthermore, faith in Christ provides a sure foundation in uncertain times, enabling believers to remain steadfast even when faced with trials. As seen in the example of the Syrophoenician woman, great faith not only requires belief in the capabilities of Christ but also demonstrates how such faith endures through trials, affirming that He is capable of fulfilling His promises. Ultimately, faith assures us of our eternal hope and relationship with Him, which is the essence of the Gospel.
