Why is it important to have Jesus as a friend?

Answered in 1 source

Having Jesus as a friend is important because He provides salvation and eternal assurance to His believers.

The significance of having Jesus as a friend lies in the comprehensive salvation He provides. As stated in Romans 5:8, 'But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.' His friendship assures us of our justification and righteousness before God. Additionally, Jesus' companionship brings peace, comfort, and understanding, as He knows our struggles and offers grace and mercy to help us in our time of need.
