Why is it important to keep trusting in Jesus as believers?

Answered in 1 source

Trusting in Jesus continually ensures that we grow in grace and remain steadfast in our faith.

The act of continually trusting in Jesus is vital for our spiritual growth and assurance. John writes that his purpose in sharing these truths is not only for believers to know they have eternal life but to continue believing in the name of the Son of God. This ongoing trust allows us to experience the fullness of life in Christ, as it keeps us aligned with His will, enables us to produce fruit (Galatians 5:22-23), and guards us against self-reliance or legalism. In moments of struggle or doubt, the question must be asked, 'In whom am I trusting?' The answer should always lead us back to Christ.
