Why is it important to listen to God's Word?

Answered in 1 source

Listening to God's Word is essential for spiritual understanding and growth.

David begins Psalm 49 with a call to hear the wisdom imparted through God's Word. The necessity of tuning our ears to God’s message is highlighted throughout scripture. In Romans 10:17, it states that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Engaging with scripture is foundational to our understanding of God’s grace and our growth as believers. It transforms our hearts and minds, enabling us to discern His will and live in accordance with His commandments. Moreover, neglecting to listen can lead to spiritual apathy or misalignment with God’s purpose. As Psalm 119:105 asserts, God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, guiding us in our daily lives.
