Why is it important to not lose heart when serving others?

Answered in 1 source

It's essential to remain steadfast in serving others as our labor in the Lord is never in vain, despite the lack of appreciation.

In serving others, particularly the poor and marginalized, Christians might experience discouragement when their efforts go unrecognized or unappreciated. However, we must remember that our service is ultimately directed to God, who sees every act of kindness. As reflected in Psalm 41, the Lord promises blessings to those who consider the poor, reinforcing that our commitment to serve should not wane due to external circumstances. Instead, we should find comfort in knowing that Christ, too, faced opposition and misunderstanding. His example strengthens our resolve to continue proclaiming the gospel and serving others, trusting that God will reward our faithfulness.
