Why is it important to obey Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Obeying Christ is an expression of our love for Him and our trust in His Word.

Obedience to Christ is central to the Christian faith because it stems from our love for Him and our trust in His promises. The Bible indicates that true obedience arises from a heart transformed by grace, as seen in Romans 6:17, which speaks of obeying from the heart. Our obedience is not about establishing our righteousness but rather a response to the righteousness that has been imputed to us through faith. Therefore, obeying Christ becomes a vital proof of our relationship with Him as we follow His teachings and strive to live in accordance with His will.
