Why is it important to preach Christ?

Answered in 3 sources

Preaching Christ is important as He is the core of the gospel and the source of salvation for all believers.

Preaching Christ focuses on the central message of the scriptures—His life, crucifixion, and resurrection. As Paul stated, he determined to know nothing but Jesus Christ and Him crucified, stressing that this is the only hope for sinners. Everything in scripture is ultimately about Christ, from the Old Testament types and shadows to the New Testament revelations of God's grace. To preach Christ is to proclaim the full counsel of God and direct the hearts of believers towards their only Redeemer, making this theme the essence of effective gospel ministry.
