Why is it important to rely on Scripture?

Answered in 1 source

Scripture is vital because it provides the truth, guidance, and power necessary for Christians to live godly lives.

The importance of Scripture is highlighted in Romans 15:4, which indicates that everything written beforehand is for our learning, providing patience and comfort that leads to hope. The Scriptures give us the foundational truths about God, human nature, and redemptive history. They inform our understanding of God’s will for our lives, provide comfort in trials, and reveal the promises of God through Christ. Moreover, they actively maintain the spiritual health of believers, as they cut back the unseen spiritual jungles that threaten to overwhelm us. Therefore, immersing ourselves in Scripture is essential for spiritual growth, empowerment, and the fulfillment of God’s purpose for our lives.
