Why is it important to understand God's sovereignty in trials?

In his sermon, Frank Tate explains that everything God does is for the eternal good of His elect. This includes the trials we face in life, which are permitted by God to teach us about His faithfulness and power. Psalm 57:2 illustrates this point well by stating that God performs all things for His people.
