Why is it important to understand grace in relation to faith?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding grace is crucial because our salvation relies solely on God's work, not our own.

Grace is the unmerited favor of God, and it is essential in the context of faith because it establishes the foundation of our salvation. The message of the Gospel holds that if our salvation is even slightly dependent on our works, we will forever remain unsatisfied and lost, as we cannot fulfill the law's demands. As Romans 11:6 states, 'And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace.' When we embrace grace, we recognize that Christ alone is our righteousness and we are freed from the burden of achieving salvation through our actions.
