Why is it impossible for God to lie?

Answered in 1 source

It is impossible for God to lie because He is the embodiment of truth and His promises are immutable.

In Hebrews 6:18, we learn that it is impossible for God to lie due to His unchanging nature. God's character is inherently truthful, and the covenant He established with His Son and the Holy Spirit is rooted in His flawless integrity. This divine faithfulness assures believers that God will do all that He has promised. The two immutable things referred to in this context are God's Word and the work of Christ, which guarantee that His promises stand firm. Unlike human promises, which can be broken, God's promises are perfect and secure. Thus, we have full assurance that He will keep His word and will not deceive.
