Why is it insufficient to merely believe in God?

Answered in 1 source

Merely believing in God without a personal relationship with Christ does not lead to salvation.

Belief in God alone is insufficient for salvation, as demonstrated in the sermon. The Apostle Paul pointed out that even the Jews, who fervently believed in God, lacked a true relationship with Him (Romans 10:2). Authentic faith requires a personal acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as Savior and a love for Him, not just a belief in His existence or teachings. Salvation is rooted in trusting Christ for His righteousness and submitting to His lordship (John 14:6). Therefore, genuine faith must transform one’s heart and produce a desire to follow Him.
