Why is it necessary for Christians to consider themselves soldiers of Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Christians are called soldiers of Christ to engage in spiritual warfare and uphold the truth of the Gospel.

The metaphor of being a soldier for Christ signifies a life of service, commitment, and readiness for battle against spiritual adversaries. As soldiers, Christians are instructed to ‘fight the good fight’ and ‘put on the whole armor of God’ (Ephesians 6:11). This imagery is vital for understanding our role in advancing the Kingdom and standing firm against the attacks of the enemy. Just as soldiers must train and prepare for battle, Christians must seek God’s strength and be equipped with His Word to effectively engage in the spiritual struggles they encounter.
