Why is it necessary for Jesus to meet God’s law and justice?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus had to fulfill God’s law perfectly and satisfy His justice to redeem sinners.

The necessity of Jesus meeting God's law and justice stems from two key obstacles to salvation: God's holiness and justice. First, God's law demands perfect obedience, which no human can achieve; thus, Christ came as a man, living a sinless life to fulfill the law on our behalf (Romans 5:19). Second, God's justice requires punishment for sin. Christ took this punishment upon Himself at the cross, serving as our substitute (1 Peter 2:24). In doing so, He satisfied the righteousness of God, making it possible for sinners to be justified and redeemed.
