Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God?

Answered in 1 source

Humbling ourselves allows us to receive God's grace, acknowledges our need for Him, and ensures His provision in our lives.

To humble ourselves before God is to recognize His sovereignty and our need for His mercy. In 1 Peter 5:6, we are instructed to humble ourselves so that He may exalt us in due time. This act of humbling is a demonstration of faith, as it acknowledges that we cannot save ourselves and that all good things come from Him. Furthermore, it allows us to cast our cares upon Him, as He cares for us greatly (1 Peter 5:7). This dependence is rooted in the understanding that pride stands in opposition to God and can blind us to His work in our lives.
