Why is it necessary to recognize our inability to meet God's requirements?

Answered in 1 source

Recognizing our inability to meet God's requirements leads us to seek grace and salvation through Christ, who fulfilled the law perfectly.

The acknowledgment of our inability to meet God's standards is critical for every Christian. This realization brings us to a point of desperation, much like the publican in Luke 18:13, who cried out for mercy, understanding his unworthiness. The sermon points out that when we see ourselves in the light of God's holiness, we recognize that we stand condemned due to our failures. However, this deep understanding of our need for grace leads us to Jesus Christ, who met all requirements for us. He lived the perfect life we could not live and died for the sins we committed, thus providing us with His righteousness and enabling us to enter the kingdom of God.
