Why is it said that death is gain for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

For Christians, death is considered gain because it brings them into the presence of Christ.

In Philippians 1:21, the Apostle Paul states, 'For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.' This expresses the profound Christian understanding that death results in immediate communion with Christ. The believer’s soul departs from this life and enters into an eternal state of joy and bliss. Hence, death is viewed not with despair but as a wonderful transition into a fuller experience of life with God and release from earthly struggles and temptations.
