Why is it significant that Christ took on human nature?

Answered in 1 source

Christ took on human nature to be our kinsman-redeemer and to reconcile us to God through His sacrifice.

The significance of Christ taking on human nature is rooted in His role as our kinsman-redeemer. In order to represent us and make atonement for our sins, He had to be made like us in every way except sin. According to Hebrews 2:14-15, Christ shared in our humanity so that He could effectively destroy the power of death and deliver us from the fear of it. His humanity not only allowed Him to empathize with our struggles but also provided the perfect sacrifice needed to reconcile mankind with God, thus fulfilling the promises made to Abraham, as described in Galatians 3:16.
