Why is it significant that Jesus was made under the law?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus being made under the law signifies His fulfillment of all legal requirements for our salvation and righteousness.

In Galatians 4:4, we read that Jesus was made under the law to redeem those under the law. This concept is significant because it expresses that Jesus fully identified with humanity by voluntarily submitting to the law's demands. By doing so, He perfectly obeyed every aspect of the law, thus establishing an everlasting righteousness that He offers to His people. This means that Jesus' obedience renders Him the only right mediator between God and man, fulfilling the law's requirement on our behalf. Hence, His life was a necessary preparation for His ultimate sacrifice, ensuring that through His death, the law's demands are satisfied, and we can be justified before God.
