Why is it significant that we are called to be servants of Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Being servants of Christ reflects our response of gratitude for His grace and the new life granted to us.

The concept of servanthood in the Christian life stems from the understanding that, like Mephibosheth, our lives are transformed by God’s sovereign grace. Upon being saved, the appropriate response for believers is to serve God out of gratitude and love. We acknowledge that our standing before Him is not based on our righteousness but on Christ's merit, and out of this realization arises a genuine desire to offer our lives as a living sacrifice and service to Him.
