Why is it vital for Christians to study the Word of God?

Answered in 1 source

Studying the Word of God is vital for Christians as it nourishes the soul and grounds them in truth.

The Scriptures serve as the primary means of grace through which God communicates His will and character. Hebrews 4:12 underscores that the Word of God is living and active, piercing our hearts and revealing our true state before Him. Regular engagement with Scripture enables believers to discern truth from falsehood, strengthens their faith, and fosters a greater love for Christ. Worship, spiritual growth, and the fight against sin are all rooted in understanding and applying God’s Word in daily life. Therefore, neglecting study leads to spiritual malnourishment, whereas diligent study generates strength and vitality in the believer's walk.
