Why is it wrong to make worship convenient?

Answered in 1 source

Making worship convenient often leads to compromising true devotion and distorting the purpose of worship.

The act of making worship more convenient, as seen in the account of Jeroboam and echoed in Jesus' cleansing of the temple, signifies the dangerous trend of Redefining God's requirements for our comfort. In Scripture, true worship involves sincerity and submission to God's holiness. By attempting to make things easier, like the money changers in the temple, we risk treating worship as a transaction rather than a sincere engagement with the Holy One. Jesus, in His fervor, demonstrated that He would not tolerate such dishonor in the house of God, reinforcing that worship is not merely about convenience but about a heart attuned to the majesty of God.
