Why is Jesus Christ important in our relationship with God?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus Christ is essential because He is our mediator, allowing us to approach God with confidence.

Jesus Christ is vital in our relationship with God because He serves as our mediator, bridging the gap caused by sin. According to Revelation 19 and various Old Testament passages, the cherubim represent His mediatory role, covering the mercy seat where God meets His people. Without the Lord Jesus, we would remain estranged from God, unable to approach Him due to His holiness and our sinfulness. Through Christ's sacrifice, we can enter into a covenant relationship with God, secure in the knowledge that we are accepted and redeemed by His grace.
