Why is Jesus Christ's role as High Priest important?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus Christ serves as our High Priest, interceding for believers and offering Himself as the ultimate sacrifice for sins, ensuring our reconciliation with God.

In Hebrews, Jesus is presented as the ultimate High Priest who fulfills roles that the Old Testament priests could not. Unlike the high priests who needed to offer daily sacrifices for their own sins, Christ offered Himself once for all as the perfect sacrifice (Hebrews 7:27). His perpetual intercession on behalf of believers (Hebrews 7:24-25) exemplifies His continuing role in our salvation and relationship with God, providing assurance that we are never abandoned or alone in our struggles.
